Introduction

                       

When I studied at Pre-college, Mahidol I heard many pieces always from my friends and some college students such as Carnival of Venice, La fille aux cheveux de lin. They are very popular. I wondered, why are these pieces not composed for french horn and, if these pieces were played on french horn how would it sound? I want to push my limit on horn by playing these popular pieces originally written for other instrument.

 

Each of these pieces has different challenges, sonority, and character. That is why I choose these repertoire in my recital. I do the article about transcriptions to discuss the individual qualities of each pieces in Transcription section of this website.

 

On this recital, I present musical pieces by famous composer arranged by me, Thanapak, and Eric Ruske. Some of the pieces are easily compatible with the horn such as Carnival of Venice and La fille aux cheveux de lin, but others are  difficult to arrange for horn because of specific technique and not comfortable for horn such as Romanian Folk Dances and Emmanuel. Despite the difficulties, it’ make me excited to work on these arrangements and present them to you. And I hope all of you enjoy the show.
